FIRST STONE: INCITY TOWER

The first stone of the Incity Tower was laid on Thursday, April 11 in Lyon, kicking off the construction of the latest and highest tower in the Part Dieu district. INCITY is part of Lyon's urban fabric and energizes the city's skyline. Located where rue Garibaldi meets Lafayette avenue and open to passers-by, it is helping revitalize and rebuild the district. Its soaring silhouette tops out at 200 m and completes the upward movement of existing towers. On a north-south alignment along the line of the rivers Saône and Rhône, the tower follows the direction of the prevailing wind. The sunny sides are covered with a protective veil, reminiscent of a silk cocoon, a symbolic reference to Lyon's past. This envelope is made up of a ventilated double skin that marries user comfort and appeal with energy performance. It will be delivered in 2015. Associated architect: AIA ARCHITECTS
