Regularly, VALODE & PISTRE holds a call for ideas, an internal design competition between all of the firm’s architects. This call allows each architect to freely express his or her design talents in the form of a day long sketch competition. The internal idea appeal aims to discover new design talent within the firm that is not otherwise expressed in the day to day operations of an architectural project.
To make the exercise more interesting, an emblematic real project, procured by the firm, is exploited in this exercise.

A jury composed of architects and artists is assembled to review and discuss the submitted projects. This discourse results in a selection of projects that merit further development, and eventual integration into the conceptual development of the project within the firm.
