OPENING OF THe Haitang Bay SHOPPING CENTER
Opened on September 1, 2014, the Haitang Bay shopping center is a unique project. Atypical due to its location in the heart of a tourist bay in Hainan in the far south of China and its size, since it is the biggest Duty Free Shopping area in the world, it stands out through its spectacular architecture. Each part of the building has been designed to invite the user to come and discover the center :
The porch creates a vast reception area comprising three 35-meter high arches and a 50-meter entranceway.
The roof design, which takes its inspiration from a local flower, the begonia, is a technical feat - made up of 30,000 metal and glass panels that cover both buildings.
The central outside area brings uniformity to the entire structure and makes it easier to read. The interior spaces are arranged around 4 distinct atria, each with their own personality, and which link the 3 levels of activity.
The project architecture also adds fully to the enjoyment the visitor experiences from fluid and unrestricted walkways.
